Hello blog readers! My name is Ashley and this is my handsome hubby Matt and our beautiful baby boy Ryan, born on December 17, 2012. Within a few weeks of his birth, we knew that Ryan had a glandular hypospadias as well as sagittal craniosynostosis. While it was at first shocking, we have learned to really see the bright side of the situation and be grateful that he is otherwise a very happy, healthy little boy.
We currently live in Germantown, MD. I teach fourth grade and Matt works as a special education paraeducator as he completes his master's degree in special education. We have two adorable rescue dogs (our original children) Benny and Kiki.
We are working hard to balance life and a new baby. Ryan is absolutely amazing and we learn more about him, ourselves, and what it means to love (and be patient) every day.
Our lives will hopefully be a lot easier after this summer, when Ryan will undergo two surgeries to correct his two conditions. When I'm not teaching, being a mother and a wife, cleaning, or washing baby vomit out of my hair, I will try to keep our family and friends up to date on Ryan's progress through this blog.
